Our goal with Ensueño 10 is to build a condominimum
development that makes as little negative impact as possible
on the environment and that makes a positive impact on both the local ecosystem and the lives of its residents. And we plan to do this without sacrificing any luxury or comfort! Here's how:
Responsible Low-Impact Publicity
We're excited to get the word out about our Ensueño 10 but we will not be sacrificing our ecological mission to do so. We are opting to use paperless publicity whenever possible with banner ads on popular Zihuatanejo websites, advertising with online magazines, and email marketing. When digital just won't do it, our team has deliberated on how best to publicize the project without creating paper, manufacturing or ink waste. Our publicity materials are on recycled paper. To reduce ink and printing waste, we are using custom embossers to mark our materials. This allows us to control the producting process, eliminate ink pre- and post-production toxins and to only "print" what materials we need as we need them.Reduced Building Density
Local zoning laws dictate that a property our size can have building structures on 50% of the land. While we will be using the maximum allowed, almost half of these "buildings" will actually be no impact, palapa-covered outdoor areas. Furthermore, regulations would allow us to build up to five stories in every building and have up to 18 units on the property. We are only building five 1-story and one 2-story villas, maximizing privacy and tranquility and minimizing negative usage of resources.Green Roofing
When viewed from the street, Ensueño 10 will appear to be growing organically right out of the hillside. With overplanted vegetation, multiple palapas and rooftop gardens, it will be hard to tell where nature ends and Ensueño 10 begins. Beyond this, rooftop gardens aren't just beautiful, they also will help save the planet! Roofs covered with local vegetation insulate the house from heat and sound, preserve the integrity of the roof and will slow down water runoff during rainy season storms, helping to prevent flooding and sewer overload.Energy Star Appliances
We will work in consultation with each buyer to plan your dream modern kitchen which we will then outfit with Energy Star appliances and custom carpentry using renewable materials. Appliances must efficiently save 20-30% of average energy usage to earn the Energy Star demarcation.Solar Powered Common Areas
We are working with our green building consultants, Bios Consultoria Ambiental, to find efficient solar energy options that will power all of our common areas and offset usage and costs in the private villas as well. Come back soon for details...Tankless Water Heaters
Every villa will come pre-equipped with a SETS tankless water heater. A conventional tank-type water heater must keep 40-80 gallons of water hot at all times while a tankless heater only heats water on demand. This eliminates the energy wasted and reduces the correlating costs by 30-50%. Removing the tank water heater will also free up storage space, continuing our commitment to open planning.Integrated Recycling Program
While the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo area does not have a formal recycling program, there are recycling facilities in the area. Ensueño 10 will both include ease-to-use recycling containers within the villas and weekly pick-up service.Grey Water Recycling
Our green building consultants, Bios Consultoria Ambiental, are working with us to develop a system to recycle grey water to tend to the communal gardens, saving water doublefold!» Contact our sales team to learn more about our commitment to sustainable green builds!
